This is Daisy, a 9 month old bully breed mix. She was abused by her former owners. Luckily she was rescued from the situation, but without an actual rescue or foster home she would have had to be turned into the local animal shelter where she almost certainly would have been euthanized.

We adopted out another of our foster dogs on Saturday and picked Daisy up on Sunday. She'd been allowed several days in a room of her own to acclimate herself before being introduced to the rest of the pack.

This was taken the evening I introduced her. We have a male lab mix foster dog that's her age and they bonded immediately. She spent hours wrestling with him on the bed. When I broke out the camera I swear she knew what I was doing. She hammed it up even more, ending with this shot. I think it sums up her attitude toward the new life she will have.

These aren't our pets (wish they were) but we don't do pets since we wouldn't have the time to care for them as they deserve. So my kids got a chance at the picnic thrown by my DH's job to ride the PONIES...can you tell they enjoyed themselves? My DS didn't leave the ponies for hours!
