Tonight I ventured out to a fireworks show...mind you, I've NEVER photographed fireworks before. Never had the patience for lugging the big cams, lenses, etc, with me. I don't worry about that now....I have the P80...complete with a Fireworks setting! I got to town WAY too late to get a good seat, but I still managed to squeeze off a few frames, and for the first run at it, its not half bad if I do say so myself!
Halfway between my genes.... happy Canada Day / Happy 4th of July to all in the two countries to make me who I am. shipm8.... you're pics are great for this year.
I borrowed these fireworks picture taking tips from my photo club newsletter. I hope they help and in a couple of days to see the results!! Have a great 4th of July celebration everyone.
A few tips for photographing fireworks are to use a tripod, use the lowest
ISO setting for the sharpest image possible, turn off your flash, apertures
of f8 to f16 with long exposures are recommended, and try
shooting the first of the fireworks to avoid a lot of smoke in your pictures.
Whats the suggested shutter speed when shooting fireworks? I've been looking around and I've seen some say 2-5 seconds, 2-10 seconds and others say to use the bulb setting.
