In sunset's fading light -- I live on the top of a mesa slope directly across the Rio Grande from the Sandia Mountains so I can sit on my porch and watch how the light plays off the mountains. Usually the mountains turn red at sunset (being largely feldspar granite) but yesterday we had an interesting cloud cover that served as a spotlight on parts of the mountain that usually are not noticed as much. (The Sandias are the eastern edge of the Rio Grande Rift in this part of New Mexico.)
