Near Brooks Falls at Katmai National Park, Alaska. We had to step off the trail and let a huge grizzly/brownie pass by. Dat be my foot. And dat be the bear's paw print.

Reppers: We just "calmly" talked to him as he walked by, "Hi bear, hi bear, hi bear...." LOL

I'd guess he was in the 1000 pound range. He looked pretty big close up!

I believe we were told that Katmai is the only place in the country (world?) where they let people and grizzlies co-mingle. They were all over the place fishing wherever we fished, on our cabin porch.... About the same time we ran into this one, a photographer from National Geographic got run over by one that was on the way to the Falls. The guy never even saw him. He was concentrating on the bears fishing in the Falls another bear came from behind him -- knocked him and his camera/tripod for a loop and kept motoring towards the Falls.

Be safe with them bears.. 1,000 pounds not like are little 300-400 Black Bears in Tennessee
