23k for a camera body... that's more than I have spent for the last 3 vehicles. (Not individually either, the last 3 combined would be under 23k.) Then again I am seriously considering upgrading to a different camera body that costs more than my beater, woods/hunting/fishing truck did.

When I was a young girl, the first ever cameras my hands touched were a Leica and a Hasselblad. I became good friends with the then president of the Camera Club of the Philippines. He came to my house one day with 2 cameras, inviting me to join the club and go to photoshoots with him and the other club members. I've only
read about Leicas then, and when he handed me one, I was trembling and was afraid I'd break it. Since then, I've been enamored with Leicas, but as you can tell, it will remain a pipe dream until I end up, well...filthy rich! The closest I got to a Leica is the lens on my Panys. After that, I dated someone who had a souped up Nikon with all the lenses, including a 400mm. I had a field day with his camera, and thought he was pathetic for using it exclusively on Auto.
When I was younger, I could hold the camera even with that long lens and shoot without shaking and without a tripod. But age creeps up on the best of us, and children have taken away practically all my disposable income!
