I really abhor ignorance. There are far too many people on here who have no clue of what they're talking about and yet insist on posting without really thinking of what they're saying.

Take for instance the incessant whining in the tea bagger set here around taxation and how poor people really don't pay much of it. Close to half of the taxpayers in the country pay no federal income tax. Those tea bagger types that whine about this and want everyone to pay fail to realize one simple thing.

They're advocating increasing taxes on about half of the population. Yup, that's it, they're against taxes, but want to raise taxes on half of the population.

I'm not really looking for any commentary here. Just thought I'd point out how these people talk out of both sides of their mouth.

It's a little ridiculous I think. Do they really think the government is going to make much revenue off someone who makes just $9 an hour?

They have been doing this for awhile. The best one is how they say that they are for limited government, then expand it. Or how they hate debts, and then explode them. Or how they hate welfare, so they go after single moms and kids and expand corporate and farm subsidies.

It's only the poorest 50% of Americans that they want to raise taxes for. If you are in the top percentage than you are ok in their books.

I don't necessarily agree with them... but they want equal tax rates. It's really not that complicated, and it's not hypocritical in the least. You're really reaching here.

Sam's right.
no one is asking to increase their taxes, they are only being asked to pay taxes.

Asking for everyone to pay an equal percentage of their income in taxes? Asking for fairness and equality? Crazy!

Some folks will dive deep into self-delusion to try to rationalize a cherished irrational misconception. Or a long-held prejudice.

Just close the ridiculous tax loopholes, and tax revenues will increase and the percentage of people paying taxes will also go up----but history tells us these will be classified as tax increases, and we cant have that.
