No matter how much you love fossil fuels, they are a limited resource, and eventually, due to market forces and innovation, the world will rely on them less and less.

Imagine if you had the option never to pay an electricity bill again and rely instead on energy from solar panels and other sources of renewable energy, energy saving home construction etc. That's why the old forms of energy, coal and oil, are fighting the renewable energy source industry tooth-and-nail, but it's a losing battle. Consumers will vote with their wallets and ultimately renewable energy is cheaper and more democratic, not to mention healthier for humans and the planet.

Already countries like Germany, Norway and even China have reduced their reliance on fossil fuels immensely. Portugal now gets 45 % of its electricity from renewable sources like sun and wind. In 2010 congressional blockage over the wind-power tax credit halved wind-power additions in the U.S., while China doubled its wind capacity for the fifth year running. Who benefits? China. Who loses? The U.S. and it's citizens.

[source: Foreign Affairs, March/April 2012, Vol 1, No. 2.]

It will only be a matter of time until the U.S. catches up to the rest of the world.

So true. Mr. XXX is either a paid shill or so brainwashed by the Dick Armey/Koch brothers' astroturf rallies, he's lost all sense of reality.

Even Mr. XXX's source is ridiculous! The Cato Institute is a well-known, right wing, politically conservative think tank pushing an obvious pro-coal/oil agenda. Guess who the founders are. Can you say KOCH BROTHERS?

HAHAHAH!
