Looks like Denver wants to turn their residential family neighborhoods into homeless camps just so that tourists don't have to see the results of the Democratic policies that Denver has for all it's problems.
Better to have the homeless tent cities in nightlife areas where it's loud and rowdy, rather than clearing them out and relocating them into family residential neighborhoods
Looks like Caring 4 Denver sales tax increase was a huge waste of money. Big California style tax increases for things like housing and services in Denver with a vast majority of it wasted.
Despite big tax increases that were promised to house those with health issues recently, it looks like the homeless situation is going downhill rapidly in Democratic Denver with the only solution to relocate the homeless camps from tourist, commercial areas into residential areas with families.
Denver is a very isolated big city, so it's not like the homeless can just go to another city because they are doing homeless sweeps.
Crime has also surged in Denver since 2010: Homicides for instance has gone from 33 in 2010 to 67 in 2018
Robberies and aggravated assaults have also skyrocketed, so the criminal justice system is not a viable solution and nor should it be.
Denver should maybe house them and give the homeless sheds to live with build inexpensive shower facilities and have coordinate volunteers to serve cheap healthy meals in the many underutilized parks in Southwest Denver.
An increasing percentage of the US population believes that drug addiction is a disability. This mentality leads to deranged activism and the passage of legislation that protects criminals and hurts the rest of us who can obey the rules and function in society.
Buckle up, it’s going to get much worse before it gets better. Leftists and the homeless industrial complex are firmly in control...whether you live in a blue state or not.

The neighborhoods will now be more "diverse" and "culturally rich" by the move, so everyone should be happy.

It's not much difference than the entire "sanctuary cities" issue. You cater to, pander to and embrace criminals, druggies and bums, you get more criminals, druggies and bums. What is worse is that they have normalized such things. There is no shame in being a useless bum, tripping out of your mind in public, crapping and pizzing in the streets. Further, both these cities-and now the 9th circuit have mandated that bums can take over public spaces and set up encampments wherever they choose.

Does it really matter how you define addiction?
