America does not need to see the communications & tax return of a billionaire who became a public servant.
America needs to see the communications & tax returns of public servants who became millionaires while being public servants.
Logical?
Is it COVID or about the election to gain back power.

No not logical, or desirable at all. The President is not above the law, he is not free to commit crimes and get away with them. This country was founded so as to not have a king or kingly power.
If there is any strong suspicion of wrong doing which requires examination of tax records , then the courts should allow it.

I'd rather see the tax returns of those that enter congress that are NOT millionaire then become one while in office or right after they leave congress.
Considering all the government funded trips to his resorts and reports of foreign governments renting rooms in his hotel and leaving them empty; sounds like the people should have a look.

"of foreign governments renting rooms in his hotel and leaving them empty"
Emphasis on "RENTING". After THEY pay for the room, it is up to THEM to stay there or not.
Are you saying we should demand to pick where thy stay? If we do , what do you think other countries will do when OUR people visit their countries.

Yes.
There is no evidence of wrongdoing. If there were the courts would pursue the legal case.
Trump's opponents just want a fishing expedition, and are try to gin up support for it. They have failed.
"America" does not have the right to see anyone's tax returns. The court does, but not America at large.

Yeah, and if the IRS isn't throwing any flags its no one else's business !!!
If they are then its a legal matter between lawyers and their client and the IRS to be worked out !!!
