this video gave me goose bumps. I know many Americans love our country. Many have in the past and gave their lives for it. God Bless America

That is one BIG flag.

It is so nice to see a video like that instead of ones where the flag is being burned, stepped on and disrespected by ignorant misguided fools.

Carrying the flag in the manner shown is disrespectful and a violation of the United States Flag Code, specifically U.S. Code § 8 which says:

Respect for flag

No disrespect should be shown to the flag of the United States of America; the flag should not be dipped to any person or thing. Regimental colors, State flags, and organization or institutional flags are to be dipped as a mark of honor.

Section c, below says:

(c) The flag should never be carried flat or horizontally, but always aloft and free.

The US flag should be flown aloft and free like its people. The only time the US flag may be carried flat like that is on a casket.

Nothing is worse than a horizontal, flat flag in my book.

Disrespect of the flag is a pet peeve of mine. Walking around with it horizontally, decorating cakes like a flag, on the seat of someone's jeans, not properly lighted at night all are a sign of disrespect, though admittedly most are ignorant of it. If we are going to honor it, do it right.

What about covering a casket ? Is that dishonoring the flag by laying flat on a casket?

If people are going to claim to be patriots, please be familiar with the rules of flag handling to avoid unintentionally desecrating the flag.

You are NOT supposed to lay down the flag on the ground.
