So now it comes out that whoever started this LIED. Letitia James DID IT HERSELF! It won't matter though. Too many do not bother to either do their due diligence nor do they sit back and wait and see what the truth is. The lie is out there and most won't bother to concede that they were lied to. You just know that the media won't offer corrections.

If it isn’t legally kosher it will be overturned on appeal.

and in the end that won't matter. All the left wants is a victory, even a temporary one. By the time it gets to appeal they would have used this as another excuse to keep Trump off the Ballot or as a political talking point. The Truth does not matter, what matters are the lies you can get the masses to believe....I still see people on the left who think Trump was a Russian agent and that 6 guards died on Jan 6th. They simply refuse to look at any evidence which contradicts their beliefs, that's called brainwashing. Love Trump or hate Trump, I do not care, what I care about is people who build their viewpoints on lies.

This is a Witch Hunt. A Bogus case with one goal and that is to discredit Trump and keep him off the ballot.

We already know that the Judge is against Trump so there goes the impartiality. Trump has already been convicted in the judges mind and the "trial" is just for show. The case is so weak but they are gunning for him and if it doesn't work and Trump walks away I'm sure the Dems are planning another impeachment if he should win in 2024.

Does the Left actually Fear the Truth that much that they would bend and break decorum to bury their political opponent? It sure seems so.

Is the Attorney General allowed to check the box for a non jury trial? She is a Trump hater and will become a celebrity if this kangaroo court wins.

There is going to be a mistrial here. The Judge is over his skis.

The question that needs to be asked is why is the Judge making comments about this case while it is still going on. This was his comments just a few weeks ago.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-t...rthur-engoron/

Quote:
Former President Donald Trump did not request a jury for his New York civil fraud trial, but even if he had asked for one, the answer would've been "no," a judge said Wednesday.

Judge Arthur Engoron addressed an issue that had been the subject of speculation on social media and by Trump himself, saying it "keeps coming up," even though he doesn't "read the papers or go online to read about" the trial.
He doesn't read the news or social media, so just out of the blue, he figures he'd make comments about the trial by jury or not.

The more the judge speaks the more ammo he is giving Trump's team for appeal.

It's legally kosher.

Trump (through his lawyers) didn't ask for a jury trial so he got a bench trial. One of the loudest complainers was Trump himself. Just like in 2016 and 2020, he started off crying about it being unfair from the outset to set the stage in case he loses.

OP may or may not be factually correct in the title. There's two possibilities.

1) Habba knowingly did not request a jury trial. In that case obviously she didn't make mistake in not requesting one. She intended to not have a jury trial and never requested one. That's not a mistake. Juries tend to be overly emotional which isn't necessarily to your advantage in a fraud case. Essentially the case boils down to whether Trump lying on his loan applications was illegal. It's not a question that he lied, that's easily established by the facts of the case. It's whether the lies were illegal. Juries however would be more likely to rule on emotion that Trump lied to benefit himself and that is wrong rather than objectively look at whether or not the lies were actually illegal.

2) Habba made a mistake and forgot to request a jury trial.

Trump may not have gotten a jury trial even if he'd asked for one, which he did not do. But if he'd asked for one he could have appealed the verdict on the basis that it was a bench trial and he was improperly denied the option of a jury trial. By not asking for jury trial, however, he's made very difficult to appeal the verdict on that grounds.

They are looking for the headline. The Mainstream media will parade it for the next 10 days, it will be overturned in 9 months and won't make the media.

The Dems base is mostly clueless people who are not paying attention and don't realize they are victims of their elite oppressors.

Judge Engoron has 20 years on the bench. I’d be willing to bet he knows enough about the law to avoid a rookie mistake like denying a defendant the right to a jury trial.

Trump’s defense team is another story altogether. I think they know they have lost and are just humoring him to keep their jobs a bit longer.
