The second pregnancy was induced, too, at 39 weeks - by my election, because the first one was 8 lbs 15 oz and I didn't want giant babies anymore (ended up with a 8 lbs 12 oz anyway).

My son was born at 43 weeks of pregnancy. Yes, he was big... and no, I didn't have gestational diabetes (everyone asks that)... he was 10lbs, 13oz. I'm no tiny thing though... (grew up being called the Amazon!)... it was nothing I couldn't handle!
The only intervention I had was my OB breaking my water after I was already in labor and in the hospital. He didn't push pitocin/induction and I was willing to wait it out. He was willing to wait it out as long as baby was healthy. I was scheduled for a fetal non-stress test the morning after I went in labor but the issue wasn't ever pushed and I went into labor on my own.. however it was a 32 hour ordeal!
