STUTTER ONCE Like he used to do all the time when he was on ESPN-lol

I think it was because he spoke from the heart and not from a piece of paper like Jerry Rice did during his speech which made him sound like a fool. I'm so proud of emmit smith because he was the one I thought would sound like a fool not Jerry rice.

Great Job emmit on the speech and you shocked me tonight.

Yeah, I listened to it on the way home from work. Brought a tear to my eye to hear him thank his offensive line, family, and then tell that last story about his dad.

Redskin fan here, ZERO love for the Cowboys... ZERO love for Emmit Smith, the football player. But I watched his hall of fame speech and it almost brought tears to my eyes. What a classy guy, what a classy speech! Well deserved....

Emmitt was one of the best players the NFL ever had. Pure class and grace all the way.

Even though I loathe Dallas, I always liked and respected Emmit. Definitely a class act and not a degenerate scumbag like a lot of his former teammates.

It was a great speech, and you could tell it came from the heart. Emmitt was not only an incredible athlete but he's also an incredible class act all the way. Jerry Rice's speech wasn't as good as Emmitt's, but he still seems to be a classy guy overall. I'm a Cowboys fan but I've always had a lot of respect for him as well.

Peter King wrote in his MMQB today that he memorized the entire speech (~2500 words) - no index cards or notes.

Very impressive.

Absolutely!

A great, great speech. Wasn't rehearsed, wasn't read, wasn't memorized. Just gave it from his heart.
