If you live anywhere in the Triangle, you must surely know of an annoying road to drive on where the lights are poorly timed. You either catch all of them or half of them, but you never seem to be able to get through them all while green. Maybe this will help?
I cannot tell you how many foul words I've uttered to myself and out loud getting stopped at every single traffic light on Falls of Neuse/Wake Forest Rd. I'm glad to see that it is part of Phase 1. It is, by far, the worst section of light timing in Raleigh.

Have to agree with that. I live in Wakefield, and FON is a critical artery for us. The timing on the lights, especially (but not limited to) the newer additions that have been put up recently, is simply horrible. It's like they threw them up haphazardly without taking any notes on what the other lights nearby were doing. I have a method for beating certain ones, but it may or may not include going a tad faster than the speed limit and accelerating more quickly than some police might like.
I wonder how it will affect cross-town (east-west) drivers in north Raleigh. In the past, the traffic planners have favored north-south traffic in and out of downtown. Woe to someone trying to get from one side of North Raleigh to the other at rush hour.
You're in too dang big of a hurry if you're worried about synchronizing traffic lights folks
We had synchronizing lights many years ago by the way. I can remember going all the way from Peyton St. on Poole Rd. and all the way through town to the Fairgrounds without hitting a light.
I can't wait to see this for FON and Six Forks Rd!
