Hi,
What are some of the main complaints you get after showing a home for sale from the "Potential Buyers"?
We have a showing this Saturday and we have animals and are a little worried regarding the "PB" not liking what they see regarding the animals.

1 little dog (will be taking with me during the showing)
1 elderly cat (will be staying, stays indoors)
2 small "crazy" "messy" "loud" parrots (will be staying)

And besides animals are there any other complaints?

The last house we sold 2.5 years ago, sold the first day to the first couple who saw it. It was oceanfront, which makes a difference, in the peak of the housing buying frenzy. And we even had another pet then (large dog) and all the pets were in the house during showing.

We are in a completely Different location now, so we don't know what to expect.

Thanks!

1) Excellent, take the small dog with you,

2) The cat will probably go under the bed and hide, not a problem with the cat

3) The bird(s) can be a problem. Many people do not like birds because of exactly what you said. Messy and noisy. Cover the cage(s), or do whatever you need to do to make them quiet make sure their area is cleaner than clean, no feathers, seeds all over etc.

Some people can overlook pets if the home is scrupulously clean, smells clean, and the pets aren't "in their face" or aren't kept near an eating area.

Otherwise, it can be a real turnoff. Ask your Realtor for the feedback after showings; that's key after you've done all you can.
