Why is that listed as ..condo?
HOA fees are a killer!
The listing describes the chapel being part of a private school. Perhaps the other buildings in the school comprise the other condo owners. Some of the "condos" here are farms. For example the original parcel might have been 12 acres but in a zoning that doesn't allow for parcels under 10 acres, or more than one dwelling per parcel. Rather than apply for rezoning and going through the bureaucracy (and potentially being told no) a developer can make "condos" out of them. Frequently they don't have any real HOA or fees. They aren't condos as people traditionally think of them but legally that's how they are identified.
The adjacent school buildings are clearly condos or some sort of multifamily arrangement. And they're very close to this structure, too. Looks like the stated garages are in detached buildings across the drive, too.
So much wasted space, but nice. I just look at that vaulted ceiling and think about all that empty space I'm heating and cooling.
Beautiful place, beautiful location. I lived on Lake Michigan in WI and loved it.
I sold a church converted into a home a long time ago. They can take a while to sell and take a special buyer. I can see why the HOA fees are high. The landscaping is a full-time job.
