This fish is known among anglers to be a bad-tasting fish. I tried one time putting salt on it then grilled; it did not taste good. I have mainly used this fish as bait to catch ocean fish.

I want to check if anyone has an OK recipe for this fish. I have 2 in my freezer right now, can give it another try if can find a good recipe.

Any good recipe for "Jacksmelt" fish?-jacksmelt.jpg

Fillet it, put in a bag with corn meal, salt and pepper, shake well and deep fry in oil at about 350

No idea, but if it is oily, it probably smokes well.

Check out some Chinese recipes for fish. They tend to be good and compliment the taste of fish well.
