And it would depend on whether it was a fatty roast or not. You need fat. If it’s an eye of round, yes, but not so much for other cuts.

Yup true, true. Venison has virtually no fat so the liquid from the peppers in vinegar and olive oil is a must.

I usually use low-salt gravy packet
And unsalted butter
The ranch dressing has lot of salt on its own
