Roast Chicken. A whole chicken, fresh not frozen, hopefully organic, dry-brined for 24 hours with a mix of kosher salt and light brown sugar. Regular table salt will not do as it has a lot of additives that can add a bitter taste to the chicken.
Micro-wave steamed bag of broccoli and cauliflower crowns, tossed with butter after steaming.
Ice cream for dessert, probably Magnum bars. My fave is the double raspberry, wife likes the double caramel.
Simple menu, just for the two of us. The whole chicken will give us leftover meat for days.

Ham, au gratin potatoes, green salad, steamed veggie, pumpkin pie made with home grown pumpkin.
My son was given a honey baked ham for his Christmas bonus last winter and he took his gift certificate into Spokane and cashed it in to be used for our Thanksgiving dinner. It's a bit of a weird Christmas bonus, since he works in Seattle, comes home to Idaho for the weekends and the only honey baked ham place is in Spokane Washington. So he had to make a trip to Spokane to pick up his ham.
I bought a bargain turkey today. 99 cents a pound for fresh turkey, which is not going to be Thanksgiving dinner. Because it is fresh, I can cut it into parts. The breast meat gets frozen to be used for turkey cutlets later and the rest is being cooked this afternoon to be made into individual frozen meals of turkey noodle casserole. I wasn't going to buy a turkey this year, but it is hard to resist that 99 cents a pound and I can make a lot of meals out of it.
Nephew hosted, so we just provided the roasted autumn vegetables, herbed butter and rolls. He smoked a turkey. Rest of the family and friends brought mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy, two cranberry salads, a ham, and four pies.
We went out to a Chinese restaurant eating House lobster, stir fry clams, fried rice, and fried intestines.
