I'd like the cookie to have the candy canes inside and maybe sprinkled on top. I figure I could sprinkle them on top of anything but I can't seem to get the consistency right for a firm-ish cookie that's not too soft.
I have made a chocolate cake mix cookie which might work. This is a soft cookie and semi sweet chocolate chips are added so candy cane pieces should work, too. Cooks.com - Recipe - Chocolate Chip Cake Mix Cookies
Make some almond biscotti, dip them in chocolate, then press crushed candy canes onto that. I make mine with strawberry candy canes every year and man are they a hit.
