Have you ever noticed that the bible rarely tells you the names of women?
Here are some examples:
1. Adam and Eve’s daughters: names not mentioned in the bible (3 of their sons – Cain, Abel, and Seth – are mentioned).
2. Lot’s wife: name not mentioned in the bible even though she was turned into a pillar of salt (she had it coming … she was told not to look back!).
3. Lot’s two daughters: names not mentioned in the bible even though both of them had drunken sex in a cave, with their father, Lot, and bore him two sons (Moab and Benammi) .
4. Noah’s wife: name not mentioned in the bible even though she helped Noah feed T-Rex and all the other dinosaurs on the Ark. I’m assuming she also helped Noah get rid of all that dinosaur poop and whatnot.
5. Noah’s three daughters-in-law: names not mentioned in the bible even though they, too, helped Noah feed T-Rex and all the other dinosaurs on the Ark. I doubt that they helped clean the dinosaur cages, though.
6. Shem, Ham, and Japheth (Noah’s three sons)’s daughters (if they had any; the bible only tells us the names of the 16 sons between them).
The bible wants you to know the names of Noah’s grandsons (none of whom were aboard the Ark), but NOT the name of Noah’s wife (who actually WAS on the Ark). Interesting .
How many family trees have the names of all the men filled in and only blank boxes for the names of the women? Noah’s family tree certainly looks that way .
It records life as it happened in the Middle East. That's just the way it is. If you want sexist, go to Iran. At least our religion doesn't teach you can beat your wife.
On things like this, the bible is what an individual wants it to be.
Want it to be "Sexist" then it can be. Although, honestly, a person who wants it to be sexist probably could come up with better examples than the lack of names of some women. (See Paul's writings for example).

Can't agree better. And full of blood and gore and vengeance and killings and you name it.
When people take the Good News of the Gospel and twist it around and ridicule the Bible , as these disrespect of the Spirit of God , as this ridicule comes from the spirit of the liberal false prophet , which will lead people away from the gospel of Jesus Christ ..... Sure there are many men in the Word of God who have dominated life on earth for thousand of years as only in these post-modern times has woman got more authority for their lives today , so you cannot blame the bible as the customs of most cultures are sexist in the world ..... But through Lord Jesus and His covenant with the Living God , there are No sex difference in the eyes of God and God plan for people who are going to Heaven , as they would be all equal , with equal opportunities ......Honestly In the Bible , there are 188 woman , and their names are in the Bible , ..Still there are 1,181 men name in the Bible...
Unfortunately like a lot of things it's yes AND no. A patriarchal society is not capable of producing a document that does not reflect its mores and times. (This is actually evidence against it being inspired, because god could and would surely produce a document that transcends its times rather than merely assuming all of its "givens").
So by 21st century standards, it's sexist; by 1st century standards it just is what it is. In fact I daresay that the Biblical take on women has been acceptable to most people (or at least most men!) for most of human history. It's a sad fact that the church did not take the lead on this issue but given its source documents perhaps this is no surprise.
No.

Odd, you'd think a moral God who values freedom, equality and everything good wouldn't select such a misogynist group of people to be his "chosen". Or you'd at least expect him/her/it to educate them wisely and give them a set of laws and commandments that made women equal to men, rather than so much cattle.

... or to any Christian society before secular laws & morality civilized them and forced them to behave themselves.

Nah, just keep her quiet, submissive, in the kitchen and stone her (and your children & neighbors) to death for various petty offences.
But of course, Christianity most certainly was OK with a man beating his wife for many centuries.
