This thread has been created to express thoughts on the concept known as pantheism. pantheism, defined by Oxford Languages as :
1. a doctrine which identifies God with the universe, or regards the universe as a manifestation of God.
2. worship that admits or tolerates all gods.
For purposes of City-Data, the concept will encompass similar expressions of the concept whether one's perspective includes a deity or not. Please read Post No. 15 of the Rules above for further information.
I dunno about the universe being God but what's undeniable is it spawned us. The universe is our ultimate forebear. Without it, there is no us.
A long time ago I reasoned that if there is no existence outside of G-d then would it be possible that the entire universe is inside of G-d?...That based on the premise that G-d is everywhere...
Great thread, MQ, and one that fits in with my belief system. I believe the Universe is God, and the Source of Life. I also believe that we have the Universe inside us and that as such, we are all One.
Unless the multiple gods represent different aspects of the universe and or life.
If god is universe and, as such, ALL, it does not matter, what one prays to - it is always prayer to god.
For human mind, due to its inclinations, it is easier to single out some aspect of reality and address to it. It's that inner affiliation with something. Hence, multiple sub-gods of same god.
Also, nature surely provides various "attractions", like lightening or eruptions or storms or else, that call to assign a deity to them. It then makes it mentally possible to "quench" such deity, if it is dangerous or, "borrow" from its might for, say, military purpose.
It is like taking a large uncut diamond and then cut it into multiple facets, all shining a bit different light, depending on point of view. yet, they are all the same in their essence, as parts of same gem.
curious to see if those recently clamoring for pantheism to be on CD, and claiming that pantheism is their flavor and favored path of religion and spirituality.....will actually participate in this the pantheism thread.

I'll guess that you'll rather find it hi -jacked for Pan -En-theism and Mystic will turn it into his own personal thread, like the one that was closed because it just became too tiresome (though it was a learning -curve for me on 'qualia').

I'll guess that you'll rather find it hi -jacked for Pan -En-theism and Mystic will turn it into his own personal thread, like the one that was closed because it just became too tiresome (though it was a learning -curve for me on 'qualia').
