No in fact I do NOT know that. I mean not to the degree you imagine anyway.

And thanks for ignoring and glossing over every single one of my points while you were at it.

While we're on the topic of "lazy", a lot of those large charity organizations have very poor expense ratios -- that is, a large percentage of donations go to "administrative costs", including lavish salaries and perks for their managers. I don't give to any organization where more than 10% of donations go to overhead. I seldom give to those where more than 5% goes to overhead. One way to achieve that is to focus, as you do, on local charities where you know the people running it are not living in McMansions in the Really Nice part of town.

There always will be those who take advantage of charity. We can't let the needy go without just because some of them might slip through, though.

To a degree, yes.

I suppose the heaven some imagine will have no need for charity.

Yeah because in the heaven they are imagining it is 100% charity, top to bottom. Everyone's needs and even wants are fully provided for. I don't think there are any time clocks in this heaven. Just endless bounty, freely given to all, no strings attached, to means testing, no gate-keeping. No artificially scarce leisure, because it's ALL leisure.

Odd that this is fine in heaven but a cause for pearl-clutching and slippery-slope concerns here in the real world. Probably because in heaven it is only the Worthy who will be present. In this life, we have to prevent the Unworthy from getting anything, the little stinkers!

Not the unworthy (no one said that), but rather the lazy.

If I’m the one being asked for help, that’s a determination I have to make.

I don't believe in it.

But if it was there ... one component ...

A place where others accept you until you can accept yourself.
