I accepted the job offer and will be moving to Reno in August!!! I was originally planning on living in Damonte Ranch and having the kids enrolled in Double Diamond elementary. But just learned that it's one of 3 schools that are doing full year school on multiple tracks because of over crowding. I called the school district of Washoe country and they told me that at any given time only 3 tracks are in school at a given time. This is also the first year they are doing this. I am concerned that the quality of education will significantly be impacted because the teachers will now have many more students to teach. Any thoughts on this?

I am not a teacher so I can't speak for them. But I think their vacation is intact but spreads throughout the year instead of the summer (some may prefer it this way).

Thanks for the congrats and the info on the multi-track system. Doesn't seem as bad as I thought because the teachers will be off at the same time as the kids, so doesn't look like they would be overworked.

Appreciate it!

Looks like it. Wife likes new houses and Damonte Ranch seems to offer a good mix of decently rated schools, quick commute to work and new home options. There is also Kumon for additional academic learning if we choose. So we are going to rent in the area so they won't have to switch schools, and build up some American credit so we can purchase a new home.

Ok, so we are moving to Reno in August and I was hoping the community can help me answer a few questions. We are living in Damonte Ranch

1) Would I be able to lease a car without having any FICO score?
2) Approximately how much is auto insurance in Reno? If I am going to lease, I would need full comprehensive. I'm talking for an average car, like a Toyota Camry, Ford Fusion etc.
3) What are the cell phone carriers that get the best reception, especially on the South side of Reno?
4) What Internet service providers are the best that provide constant reliable service?

Thanks!! !

1. Not sure. You should contact the dealerships in Reno directly. They may accept other proofs.

2. My 2016 car($30k) insurance with Geico is $291 for 6 months for comprehensive coverage. $500 deductible.

3. I guess ATT or Verizon

4. Spectrum for cable and ATT for DSL are probably your only choices. Spectrum speed is very good.
