While browsing the Reno-Sparks boards tonight I realized, without warning, that I had been having a good cry.

I can’t remember where I read it but someone’s biggest complaint about the area was a 2006 euthanizing of a dog. I had to adjust my glasses.

Well, I live in Chicago and I am in proximity of the most persistent, never-ending brutal Black violence as young children are being annihilated in our communities with predictable frequency. Gang bangers lord over entire neighborhoods. I cry whenever I think about them. Those are not the good tears, but tears of excruciating despair. Compounding my sadness is that no one is protesting this crisis. Our society has lost its damn mind, and its priorities.

But tonight, reading about your fine city gives me hope for a safer and more sane America.

Bod, I used to live right over the border in Wisconsin. Watching the Chicago news every night was heartbreaking. I moved to Reno 23 years ago for a job and never looked back.

Another thing about Reno-Sparks that will make you cry is the housing and rent prices compared to the wages. They probably won't be good tears in this case.

We certainly have our problems, scaled to the size of the cities I guess. I've always loved Chicago but never lived there, know what I mean?

Don't want to turn this political but read the national news next Saturday night about the violent ruckus that will have happened earlier that day in a town south of Reno.

Violent ruckus? I think you'll be extremely disappointed when nothing happens. In fact you may be hard pressed to see it on anything but local news. This ain't Portland or Seattle.

From your lips to God's ears.

But you haven't heard what my ears have heard from counter demonstrators about their plans. A pox on all houses.
