Is that a bad thing? Things are going on nicely in Northern Nevada.

We have active lives here. I’m out fishing at the river right now! Going camping tomorrow. Hard to be bored and trolling the web here with so much to do.
Beautiful outdoor life out here ‘in the sticks’

Where in the sticks? A river in Nevada? Isn't most of Nevada a desert? Are you up in Northern Nevada say Carson City, Dayton, Stagecoach or Fernley?

No that's great at least someone is out here. Las Vegas has too much activity whereas here on forum Reno-Sparks almost no activity on website is all.

There is an abundance of complaining on the Las Vegas site. Here in Northern Nevada, we don't have nearly as much to complain about, as the quality of life is significantly better.

Northern Nevada is a semi-arid, high-desert environment in the valleys and alpine environment in the Sierra Nevada mountains plus many of the mountain-tops and valleys all throughout Nevada have their own little ecosystems going on.

There is WATER EVERYWHERE here. Streams running down from the high-Sierra, into alpine rivers that run down into the high-desert valleys and then on into lakes. Desert lakes, ponds and alpine lakes, springs bubbling up or out of the mountainsides. We are the most mountainous state in the lower 48.

Nevada is called the 'Great Basin' because every water source runs INTO the basin forming lakes and 'sinks' instead of OUT to the ocean. Eventually it sinks into the ground or evaporates, never flows out of the basin.

Heading out now to a local pond to try and catch some fish, no luck at the river today.....

What kinds of fish up there in Northern Nevada? What are you going for?
It snows less in Northern Nevada from Carson City, Dayton up through Stagecoach to Fernley?
I won't need a 4wd or AWD for snow unlike Montana, Idaho and Wyoming

We mostly fish for trout, although there is bass and other fish like carp and catfish in the water bodies.

Most of the trout are plants now in the ponds and rivers. Of course Tahoe and Pyramid lakes have cutthroat and other native sport fish.
