Howdy Folks ~ We're going on a trip and thought it would work best to take a taxi or Uber to the airport vs paying for parking for 2 weeks. We only live 8 miles from the airport and it looks like an Uber XL (we have large luggage) would cost about $50. I don't see a Yellow Cab service here but I could have overlooked it. We are new to the area.
Would you mind recommending a good transportation service to the airport? We want to leave our cars at home so parking at a hotel for the shuttle won't work. We don't mind paying $50 but that seems pretty extreme for an 8-mile ride and if we can find something more reasonable, I'd be very happy.
I appreciate your thoughts.

Always easy to get picked up at airport but you want a reliable provider to pick up at your house. Biggest issue is the 6 am departures when your Uber's might be snoozing at 4:30. Ask me how I know haha!

By the way Uber XL should be more like $34. Don't know if the large vehicles with cab or airport service can beat that

Thanks so much, Watchful! You are always so helpful!! I did request a new quote from Uber and this time it did come back with a $30 - $39 quote. Not sure why it was higher when I did it the other day. We'll go ahead and make arrangements with Uber.

Uber has variable demand pricing - it rarely surges in Roanoke though - ask me how I know haha!
