As I review rental house listings - I have been noticing what I think is HIGH water bills - like $ 80 - $125 a month.....why are they that high??? Even in my apartment in Charlotte they were never more than $45 a month, that is both sewer and water - I could see up to maybe 50-60 tops. what am I missing?

I used to live in Roanoke last year. For years my bill for 2 people was around 60-70 bucks (lots of showers and laundry.) The only think I could think is to check for leaks. Make sure your toilets aren't running all the time. If you leave the house for a day, record the water meter reading before leaving and then after returning. If the meter has increased a few gallons, you most likely have a leak somewhere.
