I'm looking for an old Civil War Era musket that was sold to a Salem pawn shop around mid-September 2017. The pawn shop then sold it on to someone else (the Buyer) a few days to 2 weeks later.

The musket is in decent condition, is marked "E. Robinson" and "New York", and has an 1864 Indian head penny embedded in the stock. Ramrod is attached, but no bayonet or sling.

This musket was owned by my Great Grandfather and has been passed down through my family. I would be happy to buy it back from the Buyer, for enough to purchase a similar old musket.

Please feel free to share this request to anyone you know who has an interest in antique firearms or Civil War memorabilia, and I can be contacted through private message here.

Thank you for any assistance.

Good luck.

Many years ago some guy was selling some guns really cheap so I bought them. Many years later he tracked me down saying it was a mistake so I worked something out with him to get them back. There should be some local gun forums that might be able to help you too.

Try posting on https://www.northwestfirearms.com/ if you haven't already. Good chance the buyer or someone that knows them is on there.
