The original thread was started in an attempt to get feedback about criminal activity in the Villages. Since starting the thread much has changed in the neighborhood and yet I have to admit that we still have mixed feelings about living in the Villages.

The HOA still has not won us over completely but since the BOD changes last spring and all of the posters sharing their views and experiences in the original thread we do feel much more informed, which is comforting.

I hope this new thread will continue to be a source for communication among residents, and that potential buyers will take all the complaints with a grain of salt.

I also respectfully want to remind all my fellow neighbors and CD posters that...

There is no perfect neighborhood, there is always room of improvement, and if you want to see change, you must be willing to do more then just rant on and on about it.

As a current resident of Westcreek I happen to find this forum to be very informative because of what my neighbors post. I hope they will continue to do so.

There are around 19,019 subdivisions in San Antonio do we really need an ongoing thread for an individual subdivision?

New thread rules, which follow the TOS but will be more closely moderated: consumer complaints and "bashing" will be deleted; helpful information and exchanges between posters that are within TOS are desired. In other words, mature conversations are a-ok so post away!

I don't see why VOWC can't have their own thread, plwhit. If you don't live there, why do you care?

Personally, I think the first thread was probably very helpful to the community as a whole. It certainly helped us choose a different place to live when we moved here over a year ago. It seems that now, however, people are more informed and are really trying to make some changes to get VOWC back to its former glory. If a thread on a message board helps that, then it eventually helps San Antonio, so how is that bad for anyone?

I dont live there but I check it alot as I am only a stones throw away. Often what happens in one area, occurs in another.

Westcreek is a great place to live and with over 3,400 homes it surely is large enough to have its own thread.

Westcreek is in a great school district and is in a highly desirable area of San Antonio as shown by the growth in the immediate area. Close to Sea World, three new hospitals, new shopping areas, and only a few minutes from Lackland AFB...Westcreek comes highly recommended as a place to live!

Did I say OP #1 was worthless? No I didn't.... Please read the text I bolded.

If there is news/tidbits on the goings on in our communities I am all for sharing the knowledge. But to open up an identical thread because the OP thought there were too many complaints in their original post is bit much IMHO.

The mods asked me to start the new thread, I did not start it trying to change the course of the topic. They asked me to start a new thread because the old thread had become too large, not useless.

I shared that I felt the old thread was dominated by complaints and that it would be nice if the new thread would highlight more positive things too. Regardless I do find it very helpful as a current resident to keep this thread going and I would venture to guess that potential buyers or transplants to SA might also find this thread useful. (Isn't this the basic point of City Data?)
