The old La Plaza apts. that were on Isom Rd. across from Tom Bensen and the old Ramada Inn which was also torn down, It sat where Best Buy and Half Price books is now. Remember when we moved to San Antonio in 1971 into the apts. and it was a haven for tennis players from all over the city and beyond and I played almost eveyday and made alot of friends from this place. They called my dad the Silver Fox and sometimes the Mayor of La Plaza. Was a really popular apt. complex at the time. It would be neat to hear from anyone that lived there and to share any stories as I am sure there are many.

I lived there with my parents from June ‘76 to October’77. I loved the place, remember it had two swimming pools and lots of tennis courts. Our apartment was in a second floor, I remember our neighbor below us was a policeman with his wife and son. I also remember that we were granted a free membership to play in the handball and racketball club that was next to it. Our apartment was exactly in front of the closed street that connected La Plaza Apartments to the Ramada Inn. I used to fly my line control Cox airplane in that closed street that was surrounded by an empty lot of grass. That street was closed with a chain, so cars could not go through.
