What was the name of the Irish-themed steak house just off of the northbound I-35 access road, adjacent to the Windsor Park Mall parking lot? The steak house did not last, but I think the building is still there. It seems that this outfit had another location or two in San Antonio.

Thumbs up Gallaghers - Restaurant From 1970', 1980's

Gallaghers was a chain that had restaurants in SA, I-35 Windsor Park, I-10 and Wurzbach, Tidwell and 45 in Houston, Beaumont, Richardson. It was a very fun place to work, I worked at both San Antonio locations 78-79 and the Houston in 1980. They had great house bands (Odessa) and were staffed by fun personalies. Howard, Keith, Joe, Maurine, Mike, Rick, Jay, Stephan, Anthony, Susan and many many more. Good Food, London Broil, Seafood and the Prime Rib were great. Crazy good times.

Too Bad, they disappeared.

I kind of remember them where were they located. I know at 35 and Walzem, and IH 10 and Wurzbach. But where exactly were they and whats there now?

i'm not sure about the I10 location, but i remember the Gallaghers being right off of walzem, slightly off from Windsor Park, and i think there's a pawn shop there now...or it might have been divided up into several small stores...

Remember Steak and Ale? Never ate there. I always heard it was pretty good, but the whole Swiss chalet thing just didn't intrigue me.

Does anyone remember the name of the other little chain of steak restaurants we had in SA? I think the name started with F. There was one at Bandera and 410 near where the IHOP is now. I can not remember the name of those places to save my life.
