Do school districts ever redraw their boundaries? I'm looking into a house in the far northwest region of Judson ISD (whose schools are 15-20 minutes further away than the NEISD ones).

Just curious if the boundaries between districts are ever redrawn/re-organized.

Although there are plenty of attendance area changes within local districts, I've never heard of boundaries between districts changing in SA. Some people think that there are too many districts and we'd be better off if they consolidated a few of them. I don't believe there has been a serious proposal to do that in years.

In general, territory swaps between districts only happen with undeveloped land. Developers may try to arrange a swap to a better district before developing to increase the value of their project. It's less controversial because no one is attending school from the territory that's being swapped. That wouldn't apply in your case, since you're looking at a home that's already built in a neighborhood that's been developed.

Just out of curiosity, are you hoping that it does happen or hoping that it won't?
