I work at University of La Verne and my husband may get a job at Cal State San Bernadino. Which cities do you recommend us to live in? Ideally I would want my commute to be under 25 minutes and under 35 minutes for my husband. It looks like Claremont is nice but it's very expensive. It also looks like Rancho Cucamonga is decent (and cheaper) but I think I would be driving with traffic, right? Is that a bad commute?

The morning commute from San Bernardino is usually westbound to areas closer to Los Angeles.

La Verne, Claremont, Rancho Cucamonga, & San Bernardino are all served by the Metrolink San Bernardino Line.

You could also try the Sierra Lakes neighborhood in northern Fontana.

I lived in Alta Loma for 24 years. I commuted westbound to Commerce for 2 years and to San Bernardino Hospitality Lane for 17, and worked from home for 5. It is much easier driving east than west. I got from the Chaffey College area to San Bernardino in 30 minutes consistently, even before the 210 was completed. I think that CSUSB will be an easy commute from anywhere along the 210. As far as driving west, I would say anywhere east to the 15 would be OK, but the further west, the easier your commute though your housing cost would climb unless you live in Pomona.
