What is the general consensus on the young single life on the Peninsula (Mountain View, San Jose, Palo Alto)?

Wish I knew!
I live in that area, and it's really tough to meet people! A few thoughts... my friend belongs to a group called "Table for six", which is a dating service that hooks you up with other people for dinners. I occasionally attend Jewish-related events, like the young adult services in the city (SF), and they also have J-Date parties sometimes - these are typically not on the Peninsula, but there are some that meet around here. I also know people in Junior League, but that's not so much for the single ladies. Another good source is craigslist-dot-org, where you can "chat" with locals on the forums... a few weirdos on there, though.
Finally, there's always a bar! We have lots of bars that are popular around here, like the BBC (British Banker's Club) in Menlo Park, and lots of places near/on University Ave. Los Gatos also has a nice nightlife, with bars & music clubs that are always busy. Anyway, that's all I can think of for now... let me know if you find something fun!

Best way to meet people is on line. You can separate the wheat from the chaff, pick your opportunities and go to your BBC's from there. Try eHarmony or match.com. Of course, if you just want to go out and drink and survey the landscape...well, diff'rent strokes, I suppose. :<)

I live in that area, and it's really tough to meet people! A few thoughts... my friend belongs to a group called "Table for six", which is a dating service that hooks you up with other people for dinners. I occasionally attend Jewish-related events, like the young adult services in the city (SF), and they also have J-Date parties sometimes - these are typically not on the Peninsula, but there are some that meet around here. I also know people in Junior League, but that's not so much for the single ladies. Another good source is craigslist-dot-org, where you can "chat" with locals on the forums... a few weirdos on there, though. 
Finally, there's always a bar! We have lots of bars that are popular around here, like the BBC (British Banker's Club) in Menlo Park, and lots of places near/on University Ave. Los Gatos also has a nice nightlife, with bars & music clubs that are always busy. Anyway, that's all I can think of for now... let me know if you find something fun!
