See people reporting 2.6% yesterday from 95119 area at mortgage quotes sharing site https://rate.exposed

This is much lower than my current rate (4.375%). Thinking about taking advantage the current low rates and wondering if you guys have any recommended local lender or any tips to find a good one.

few years back, i tried to refinance through bigger firm but felt like treated like criminal, gestapo type of interrogation. Inquring every moderate to large transaction on my checking and submitting written explanation. I literally and eventually said f** off + tons of other expletives toward loan officer and pulled my application which was a right thing. Understandably the rules and regulations tightened following the 2009 meltdown but I was not the one who went on through reckless borrowing so did not feel fair for me.

Now I am renting and happy, probably newer buy through mortgage, possible by cash if I ever coudl afford one.

Mortgages are commodities at this point, just shop for rates.

LenderFI has just closed temporary but they get their mortgages from UWM, so it’s pretty low. Check out bufflehead forum on refinancing. There’s a mega thread on that.

What do we mean by local here? Strictly within SJ?

We have done 4 mortgages/refis over the past 4 years and JVM Lending has been our go to for all 4 of those transactions. Their rates are good and they are super responsive and fast (which is a high priority for us).

Their CA mortgage business is based out of Walnut Creek and Sac.
