New grades of public schools in New Mexico were announced last week.

Although elementary schools in Santa Fe were doing ok, middle and high school grades are really bad.

I am especially shocked by math proficiency level of 7% (Santa Fe high) and 2% (Capital high).
I know the difficulty in educating students from low income families but this will not be acceptable to most families.
Many families had to move out because of schools since they could not affor private schools and would not want their children to be educated in failing schools.
There should be immediate changes to reverse this trend.
Without real changes in public schools in Santa Fe, the honest answer to many families with kids who are considering a move to Santa Fe is that unless you can afford private schools, you should not.
