Single Lady in Need of Best Areas in Manatee or Sarasota Counties to Move To??? (Tampa: apartment complexes)

I am a recently single woman who will be moving to Florida from Michigan within the next few months for a job opportunity in Sarasota. I will initially live with one of my brothers who lives in the Tampa Bay area, but would like to get my own apartment after a couple months. It will be just me but I do have two grown children and two infant grandchildren that will eventually visit (hopefully they don't try to stay). My price range will be about max $1000 per month for an apartment. I would like an area that is fairly quiet. I am only in my early 40's but I do not mind living around older people. I really don't care about pools or playgrounds but if the area has them that would be nice when the kids visit. Thanks!

You probably won't want to commute from Tampa Bay area to Sarasota; dm me, I can give you a couple of landlord names ~ $1K a month would probably get you 1/1 or small small house...rents are high & inventory low, plus in a couple of months we're going into "season" and your chances of reasonable rental will be slim.

I do not personally handle rentals, but I do stay current with the rental market because of investors. Finding anything at or below $1000 is difficult to do at this time, the rental market inventory is very low at that price point. Sarasota is going to be more expensive than Bradenton in general. There are some new apartment complexes near Lakewood Ranch that may have a 1 bedroom unit in your price range but I imagine they are renting quickly. The Meadows and Palm Aire sometimes have small condos as well in your price range, or try west Bradenton - lots of condo communities there, so you typically find less expensive rentals there vs Sarasota.

Will you be looking for employment as well? If so I would suggest finding the job first, then the rental so that you do not end up with a long commute time.
