Here's a list of fun things I've found that are going on in the Sarasota - Bradenton - Venice area this weekend.
MARCH 1 - AUGUST 30
Yoga on the Beach -- Siesta Key Public Beach, 9 am - 10:30 am each Mon, Wed, Fri & Sat.
APRIL 4 - 14
Sarasota Film Festival -- The 26th Sarasota Film Festival has a lineup of films that includes 64 features, with 4 World Premieres, 1 North American Premiere, 7 East Coast Premieres, and 24 Florida Premieres; and 81 short films. Various locations.

FRIDAY
Music in the Park -- Bradenton's Riverwalk Park 6 - 8 pm at the pavilion.
Music on Main -- street party at Lakewood Ranch's Main Street, 6 - 9 pm, family friendly, live music.
Fresh Fridays -- party in downtown Sarasota on Main between Palm & Pineapple (new location), 7 - 10 pm, live music, entertainment.
Sarasota Film Festival Opening Night Party --at The Sarasota Modern Hotel by the pool, 8 - 11 pm, tickets $53 - $59/person. Pool party, drinks, DJ, dancing.
FRIDAY - SATURDAY
Minor League Baseball: Clearwater Threshers vs Bradenton Marauders at LECOM Park in Bradenton. Gates open both days at 6:30 pm, fireworks after Saturday's game. Tickets $11 - $15/person.
SATURDAY
Sarasota Farmers Market -- downtown at Lemon & Main, 7 am - 1 pm.
Central Sarasota Farmers Market -- corner Proctor & Beneva, 8 am - 1 pm.
Bradenton Farmers Market -- on Old Main Street (400 12th St W), 9 am - 2 pm.
Venice Farmers Market -- at the City Hall, 401 W Venice Ave, 8 am - 1 pm.
Summer Hours: 8 am - noon.
Selby Gardens Family Saturdays -- activity stations for the family, 10 am - noon. Included in regular admission prices.
Run for the Turtles -- Mote Marine fundraising event, registration required, 1 mile & 5K runs at Siesta Key Beach. Check in time 7 am, 1 Mile Run 7:30 am, 5K Run 8 am.
Wild About Nature Festival -- family friendly event on shores of Little Sarasota Bay at Bay Preserve 11 am - 4 pm. Free admission. Demonstrations, activities, crafts, games, live music, food trucks. 400 Palmetto Ave, Osprey.
Goat Yoga -- at Fruitville Grove east of I-75, 10:30 am, $40/person.
Roller Derby -- Bradentucky Bombers takes on the Tampa Death Rollers at Ellenton Ice & Sports Complex, 5 pm, tickets $10 and up.
Food Truck Rally -- at Big Top Brewers in Lakewood Ranch, 5 - 9 pm, 2507 Lakewood Ranch Blvd.
UTC Fit -- various forms of exercise classes, free admission, The Green at UTC (mall), 9:30 - 10:30 am.
Tampa: Tampa Bay Empanada Festival -- at Perry Harvey Park in downtown Tampa. Food vendors, crafts beers & cocktail vendors, music. General Admission $7/adult, VIP tickets $60, kids 12 and under get in free.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY
Spirit Fest Sarasota -- holistic, wellness, metaphysical. Readings, demonstrations, etc. Robarts Arena at the Sarasota County Fairgrounds, 10 am - 5:30 pm, tickets $12/day or $18/2 days, kids 12 and under get in free.
SUNDAY
Lakewood Ranch Farmers Market -- Waterside Place, 10 am - 2 pm.
The Meadows Farmers Market -- At the Meadows shopping village off Honore, 10 am - 2 pm.
Wellen Park Farmers Market -- 9 am - 1 pm.
Polo at Lakewood Ranch -- gates open 10 am, starts at 1 pm, tickets $15 & up. Polo ticket and other info at:

The Ski-A-Rees Water Ski Show -- free show, starts 2 pm, 1602 Ken Thompson Pkwy by Mote
Sundays at the Bay -- free performance by various artists at The Oval on the Bay, 4 - 5:30 pm.
Siesta Key Beach Drum Circle -- free event, people gather about an hour before sunset.
Family Fun 4 Miler -- fun run for the family, kids can bring bicycles & scooters to participate, free admission, start 9 am at Benderson Park in Sarasota.
APRIL 8 -- SOLAR ECLIPSE - 63 to 65% blockage of the sun can be seen here in our area Monday afternoon. Please see my other post regarding the eclipse on this forum.
