Grocery store gets OK | savannahnow.com

A neighborhood walmart... literally a mile from the non-Supercenter WalMart, another 5-6 miles from the 17 Supercenter and a short distance from the Montgomery Store.

NO MORE WAL MARTS.

Seriously! Savannah is WAY over reliant on them.

I didn't truly realize this until I moved away.

Yeah, apparently Wal Mart bought up some land in Pooler next to Lowe's so Target wouldn't build there... in addition to already having a Wal-Mart in Pooler.

Yeah, there were rumors for years that there would be another Wal-Mart built on that side of Pooler Parkway. It never made sense to me.

I'm sure Target is smart enough to find land in the area other than that particular property if they wanted to.
