I'll gladly pay more for decent meat than buy that crap Walmart sells. For a long time Walmart was the only choice in this town and their meat quality was just awful. Tough, full of sinew and lots of excess fat that was just waste. When you cut off the excess fat, the price per pound for the remaining meat wasn't that much cheaper but the quality was.

We were so happy when we got a decent grocery in the area to shop at. Wish we had a real, old fashion, butcher shop.

Mileage may vary, the point being that most of the stuff you're paying a lot more for at Whole Foods is really of no better quality than most other places...as long as you're comparing USDA quality apples to apples.

Look for a game cutter. They often handle live stock of hunting season.

So you have a WF, market 32, walmart and no butcher shop in your area?

I think that there is almost certainly one and you just have not searched correctly. Go to google, type in terms like meat locker, butcher shop or various synonyms.

Best of luck.
