Is it the people who make up the city, which become the negative driving force that results to turn away tourist and investors. We may not want to face it, but the we have made decision which turn these things away. We've pursued re-segregating the city, we promotes inequality in pay, we created segregation and division in how shopping areas are supported and invested in for upgrades. We have imbalances in home improvement lending and we've simply destroyed the old, American Can Do, by policies and biases, where we no longer have anything remotely structured to support 'business creations".

We've made it so hard for the start up, that people shy away because of such complicity and exaggerated cost. '"go and try and establish a business telephone connections", not only is the cost insidious, the craziness of the structure of the sales game in this commodity is equally a detractor.

We have not figured out how to develop a progressive method of tax base to help business survive long enough to become stable.

We have imbalances in lending practices, depending on the community one seeks to establish business.
We have no structure designed to promote concessions to property owners, to participate in a rent reduction program.

We have not ventured to understand the value of developing a cross-ethnic and cross-racial business collaboration program.

For some reason, we have a slow moving "construction system" - It takes them too long to build anything, and we have far less environmental and other regulatory constraints than many Major Metro's. Yet, construction time bleeds projects dry. Until we result to get low quality developments as a result, when cost is cut on quality materials, to pay for the extended construction time and the delay and profit game of "change orders".

It takes street vendors too long and too much expense to get set up and in business. We have no system of fast tracking projects to get approvals across the table and projects off the ground.

We sit back and watch places like New York, turn and go straight innovative with their 10 yrs tax breaks for new industry. While we let the GM plan sit empty, we have let the the old Western Electric building under-perform for 2 decades or more. We look at the North Market Industrial Corridor, which is not as well kept as it was in 1950's. We don't grasp what and how to invest in our industrial infrastructure, nor how to become and have a robust economic development program.

We suffer because of "us"

This blog space may not be visited by many, but there is no promotion to engage dialog, people rather get attitudes at active posters, rather than join in and crate a discussion. If its not two lines of slap stick, tongue in cheek commentary, then people have such short attention spans they tire easily if more than one variable is contained within dialog.

We are the reason why our city is as it is, It's always about the people. The people have the power to push and force political process, but apathy is too dominant, which leaves the way for anything goes when it comes to non actions and poor decisions being made. Because there is no "collective rebuttal".

Yet, this is where peoples lives are... regardless what is thought, if you live here, this is where your life is. It is also where the lives of your children exist.

We can allow bigotry, bias and segregationist aims to further decimate the over-all, and we all suffer as a result.

We suffer because of "us" !!!!

How amazing is that?

We get bogged down is worshiping the Pastor, rather than the word, because if we heeded the word, we'd be with positive motivations, and unity building aspirations. But we buy into the secular divides of pastors trying to create independent mecca's to increase their financial yield. There is no reason why there should not be unity among the claimed religious leaders, yet there is high level dis-unity.

They have not banned together to push for better financial instruments to be brought forth by the banking community, they have not banned together to push for better rebuilding programs to remove the blight. We have individuals with small groups.

With the resources contributed on Sunday mornings, we'd be astounded what the collective sum of that truly amounts to be. Yet, how it is supporting Unity Building, is a great question?

We suffer because of "us" !!!!
