Default Page two Pic #1

The roadster that is leading the pack in the 1st picture on page two looks an awful lot like the predecessor to the famous Stutz BearCat. If so the picture would be from 1914 or earlier [assuming the car was new. Most of the other cars in the pictures seem to date back to around 1910, give or take a few years. When was the courthouse built?

uh

Unfortunately, I don't know when the courthouse was built. My dad, passed away a couple years ago. I got these pictures out of an old box he had. We moved out of Miller when I was only 3 although I went down every summer to visit and work on a farm. A lot of these buildings, I've seen but I have no clue as to age. I'm hoping somebody will recognize so I can add notes to the photo's. haha

Your identifying the cars is a great help. Can start narrowing it down a little.

Thanks UH.

By the way, were you dating yourself or are you a car buff?

JG, I have drank alone, but I never dated myself. LOL
Moving on down to the 3rd picture on page two, you will notice that there are no cars in that picture. All of the carriages are hitched to horses. That would seem to date the picture back to 1900 or earlier. Assuming these pictures where taken over a persons adult lifetime and that they didn't always have a camera, I would guess that they all where taken between 1890 and 1915. The plus or minus could be a decade either way.

uh

I forgot to add that in the first picture there are no hitching rails on the street, so that pic was taken after cars had taken over and horse where no longer a common means of transportation.

Can anyone put a date on that bicycle in the middle of the picture that has all those men in front of that building? It must be new because the owner sure is proud of it.

uh

Wow! Thanks for sharing the pictures, they are really great! Look at all that has changed in just 100 years, it's just amazing! Too bad they didn't use their digital camera, the date would have been stamped right on there. LOL!

Great pictures and thanks again!
