Just heard about the fire you had last night. Are most of the historic downtown structures ok, Dick? It's such a beautiful downtown. Hearing this story on the news made me really sad.

The fire took out 3 of the sandstone buildings. One, the Vault Bar & Grill, was originally a Bank with some historical value. There are still a number of the old sandstone buildings left. It will be interesting to see what gets rebuilt in the space.

Correction to the above post: The fire took out 1 building which housed 4 business's and a home. The remains of the building will have to be destroyed and hauled away. The building originally housed a rather large bank, the size of which would indicate some historical significance in 1890.

Thanks for the update, Dick. Hope they find a way to rebuild in that location using the sandstone and other historic features.

This is just a personal opinion, but the highest & best use for that property is probably a 3 story parking lot. Again, jmho.
