I came across a video the other day about a team who won a football game because the refs made a mistake at the end. The refs caught their mistake, new they made a mistake but instead of correcting their mistake, they just walked off the field and left it. The coach of the team who "won" also knew that they shouldnt have won but didnt say anything.
In the comments it came up about how the coach of the team who won didnt have any integrity because he knew that his team shouldnt have truly won. This caused a major uproar because evidently no coach would ever say no to a win even if they shouldnt have won.
Growing up I played in many sports in many different areas. I was not very good but I had fun. I can think of two coaches, in two sports in two different schools who had us lose points because they knew we didnt score the points. They had integrity. I thought this was a common thing in sports but evidently it is not, or at least isnt anymore. I dont know.
Im just wondering if winning or accepting points when they werent deserved is common now days.
It’s on the officials, not the teams. Who in their right mind would forfeit a victory?
Someone with integrity.
