and finding it a tad challenging to meet new friends. I'm mid-40s, married, no kids, very active (cycling, hiking, walking, skiing). We travel a lot; so to be honest, we haven't been home all that much. But any suggestions on how to find groups/clubs to get involved with would be much appreciated.

We do ride our bikes with a small group of retired guys (mostly men in their 60s and 70s) who we love to ride with. But we'd love to meet more younger couples with whom to socialize...

:-) Deb

I'm in the same boat as you two are, though I'm single & have been here for less than a year. Have you two looked into volunteer activities, such as at an area animal shelter, or the Festival of Trees thing?

We are moving to The Falls at Mesa Point in St. George on Feb 1 (from upstate NY - both in our mid 40's also) and play in a pool (billiards) league here that has intoduced us to a nice bunch of friends. What about a pool or bowling league? - something along the lines of a more social/fun/less intense sports activity for our age group?

Hi there! We do NOT actually live in St George YET, but we own a home (rent it out) and are planning on moving there in the next couple of years. We sound exactly like you! Same age range, no kids either - very active, etc. When we get there we will definitely look you up! I don't remember the rules on this forum about giving out numbers etc but usually you don't on an open forum. Are you able to PM me by any chance using this forum? Or do you know a way for you to give me your number or way to reach you once we move out there? Would love to meet you!

I wouldn't post any personal info on the open forum. Click on the user's name and select "send direct message".

Good luck on your upcoming move!

Im 47, my wife is 40. We have an 11 yr old boy living at home. We love to play cards (a game called TICK), BBQ and just socialize. Shoot me a private message and we can hook up for a casual get together. We too have found it difficult in as the people that live around us are in their 20's and their oldest child is 5 years younger than our youngest.

It's really hard if you don't go to church...we actually go and still find it hard because most of the people in our neighborhood grew up here and have family and friends to hang out with, so there is no effort to get to know those who are new here. We have 5 children ages 1-12 and would love to play games, do BBQ's, date night, etc. Religion, lifestyle, married, single...doesn't matter to us. We would just like to find some friends.
