I grew up in a suburb of SLC. We were religiously outcast our entire school life and beyond. I witnessed all kinds of racism too. It is what it is, period. It still occurs today as I have siblings up there. After having kids we moved all over the country and its been fantastic. A job has now brought us back to an area that we can choose to live in Vegas or St. George. I want to hear from everyone but especially non Mormon's experiences of their teens in St. George schools and any cultural diversity they see.

Go for Vegas, since your previous experiences will always count in *judging* an area and its inhabitants.
You even stated :
*It still occurs today* !
Nothing much has changed over the years !

I went to high school in Las Vegas AND St. George both. (Late 2000's)
ST George was much, much better, safer, and friendly. Las vegas high schools are brutal. Ick.

St George is much better because to be my non-PC, blunt self, there is less "cultural diversity."

I also attended high school in Las Vegas and St. George. They are two entirely different worlds, so you should probably just start a Pros/Cons list. St. George is gorgeous, more laid back, and has more opportunities for outdoor activities and Las Vegas is more urban with less sense of community.

There are some very good high schools in the Las Vegas area, but you will need to do some research. (I personally prefer living in Henderson). Good Luck
