My wife and I will be travelling through Missouri in Nov.
We'll only have one free night together in St Louis so we would like to spend the night out on the town.
We're in are early 40's not looking for the local hip hop or dance club type of thing or the retirement community either lol.
Something that would define the city or its history would be cool.
Real St. Lou BBQ for lunch, a nice dinner spot, drinks after, a blues and or comedy club. That type of stuff.

Any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Eddy

WOW, St Louise must be a real happening town
We'll miss the world series action but be able to take in a Blues game before we leave.
We still need a place to eat

Default Question

I can give you some suggestions, is your hotel downtown? If you don't
have a hotel yet, I could suggest a few good ones too. Give me a few
of your favorite types of restaurants or type of atmosphere too. Then
I will shoot you some detailed ideas.

We have tickets for the Blues game the night we are in town and I believe our hotel is near by.

I love to eat May be to much. Blues clubs or bars? I don't know how much of it actually exists just that the blues is the home of a lot of old musicians (and the the hockey team )

Could you suggest some places to have lunch, dinner either before or after the game and may be a nice bar or two? A nice breakfast before we leave would be cool.

We're open to all types of food. Of course we would like to try and get some authentic BBQ and other St Louis specialties (what ever they may be)

Is St Louis known for specific type of food or restaurant?
I've heard of course of the baby back ribs but not much other then that.

I don't get to St. Louis very often, so I won't be much help. And, having grown up in the KC area, I don't consider StL a BBQ town. Although I'm sure there are great BBQ places in St. Louis. It is better known for Italian food on "The Hill". And I caught some good live blues at a bar in Laclede's Landing once.

You may want to try this question in the St. Louis portion of this website if you haven't already.

The Landing is always a interesting place to go check out! Lots of things to check out there .

Im in Illinois 1 hour outside of St. Louis ....I mostly go to shop!

My daughter swears that Tony's has the best pizza -
I think it depends on what part of st. louis you are in as well..its pretty open for many things.

If you come to STL make sure you go to IMO's for one of your meals. It's STL pizza at it's best. A good place, I've heard, to eat is Kyo at (14th and Washington). It's honestly just a few blocks North from 14 and Clark (Scott-trade Center). Breakfast should IMO be done at Uncle Bill's. There are two locations and one is on Manchester. It's good food and a decent price.
