Vitamins are essential for maintaining optimal body functions, from regulating heartbeats to healing wounds.
In general, people can get most of the vitamins they need from eating a well-balanced diet, but doctors might suggest or prescribe supplements in severely deficient patients. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has found that Americans are particularly deficient in vitamin B6, iron, vitamin D , and vitamin C.
Though sales for supplements, including vitamins, have skyrocketed during the pandemic, taking these supplements in conjunction with some prescription medications can lead to dangerous health outcomes.
Drug interactions (including supplements) can be hazardess to your health, be sure to check with your Dr, or pharmacist, before taking
I don't have to worry about drug interactions, as getting away from those was the reason I chose natural medicine. I know a lot of doctors discourage natural medicine. In the past, we found that doctors from India know the value of natural medicine, and others are starting to come around.

Exactly.
And properly prescribed medications are the 3rd leading cause of death in the US. Nutritional supplements have never killed anyone as far as I know.

A distant relative died from liver cancer in his early 60s and I was told that he was attempting to be super healthy by taking lots of higher dose vitamin supplements. He thought a multivitamin was not enough so he was taking A, B, C, D, E and others separately in higher amounts. He had a whole kitchen cabinet full of different supplements. Of course his death certificate said he died of liver cancer, and there was no mention of vitamin toxicity.
I believe it's very possible to die from vitamin toxicity.
Toxicity from taking high doses of vitamin D supplements can lead irregular heartbeat. It can also raise blood calcium levels, resulting in organ damage.
High-dose vitamin E supplements can interrupt efficient blood clotting, cause hemorrhages, and lead to hemorrhagic stroke.
This is in direct answer to the claim that taking supplements doesn't kill people. Yes, it can, and in some cases, it does. There is such a thing as vitamin and mineral toxicity, and you can die from it.

I don't worry either as I avoid pharma drugs except for otc low dose pain meds, if only I didn't live in a body with OA arthritis but at 84 it could always be worse.

interaction warnings are a great place to find natural alternatives to the pharma chemicals. esp the warnings about the natural thing magnifying the drug's effect. on a silver platter
The two most common causes of death in the United States are medical: heart disease and cancer, respectively. According to a new study, the third cause could also be medical—in a terrifying way.
According to research published in the British Medical Journal, medical errors in hospitals and other medical facilities could be the third leading cause of death in the U.S., claiming 250,000 lives every year.
Hospital Errors are the Third Leading Cause of Death in U.S., and New Hospital Safety Scores Show Improvements Are Too Slow
Washington, D.C., October 23, 2013 – New research estimates up to 440,000 Americans are dying annually from preventable hospital errors. This puts medical errors as the third leading cause of death in the United States, underscoring the need for patients to protect themselves and their families from harm, and for hospitals to make patient safety a priority.

My reason, as well, which is why when I was shopping for a doctor, I chose one that specialized in Osteopathic medicine. While he does treat patients with modern medicine, he's very open to alternative treatments and that's why I like him. I can freely discuss alternative treatments without him dismissing me as a kook.
