You didn't ask me but I'll answer for myself. I donate blood every couple of months because my blood helps those who need it. I'll keep donating until I can't. Have you ever donated?
I started taking prescribed Vitamin D for several months, then OTC Vit D for months after labs showed I was very deficient.
Maybe somewhere in the 6-8 month timepoint post initiating Vit D supplementation, I started to develop flank pain. Can't figure out what it is to this day, however, my doc thinks I'm passing small kidney stones that aren't showing up on imaging.
This is possibly from calcium. The more D you take, the more calcium you absorb; however, taking Vitamin K2 (MK7) will ensure the calcium gets to your bones rather than causing kidney stones, clogged arteries and bone spurs.

Are these the same experts who told us COVID originated from bats? I never doubted science I doubt what humans do with it. The idiots who invented the atomic bomb said they thought they were doing humanity a great favor.

Not the exact same experts!
It is pointless and irresponsible to broad brush who might or might not need some supplement here. Humans aren't identical assembly line products. What one may need to address a legitimate, diagnosed health issue another one may not.

Reason: Added missing quote bracket
If you eat a poor quality diet, that makes it questionable whether you are getting enough micronutrients, a complete multivitamin would probably be beneficial.
Megadoses of any vitamin/mineral, for most people, probably a bad idea.
Don't know about "clean" but I've been using Sports Research D+K for years with good results after my Dr said I could get an Rx for a short term high dose like you, or take OTC. I chose the OTC. My numbers are in the middle of the normal range now.
so I shouldn't take the 50,000 iu mg that my dr prescribe me because I was hesitant not to take it for the fact that my vitamin d level was worse 4 years ago is at 21 then without taking anything or rarely taking vitamin d my vitamin d level is now at 26 but for some reason my dr suggest me to take 50,000 mg when in fact my vitamin level is much better 4 years ago. aggghhhhhhhh!!!!!
Also what's a good cleanest OTC vitamin d3? brand please? currently have megafood but i heard is not good.
Stop saying 50,000 mg!!
Vitamin D3 is listed in both micrograms (mcg) and international units (IU);
1 mcg vitamin D is equal to 40 IU
50,000 IU = 1,250 mcg
For severe D3 defficiency your doctor might prescribe you a 50,000 IU supplement.
You'll likely take it 1x a week for 6 to 12 weeks. After that, you'll get another blood test to measure your level.
While it is possible to take too much vitamin D, toxicity is very rare.

Doctors are not always right. Every source I can find says that much is not good for you. You body will flush the excess through your kidneys and can cause kidney damage. Most say that 4,000-5,000 is the most you should take daily.
I take a vitamin pack a day. Have been taking supplements since started amateur boxing at age 15, am now 67. Still alive with good blood tests twice a year. Would I be the same without the supplements? Yeah probably, but why stop now?
